“Human and dog, a love affair!”
Nothing compares to the joy of coming home to a loyal companion. The unconditional love of a pet can do more than keep you company. Pets may also decrease stress, improve heart health, and even help children with their emotional and social skills.
Dogs make people happier. On the scientific level, people release the hormone oxytocin whenever they touch, hug, or even look into their dog's eyes, and these increased oxytocin levels naturally improve your mood and make you feel good.
An estimated 68% of U.S. households have a pet. In Asia, more than half of people (59%) have a pet in their home, but there are quite big differences. On one side, there is Hong Kong, where 16% own a dog compared to 47% in Thailand and on the other side, Philippines with the highest rate - 67% owning a dog. (source: Pet Market in Asia 2018)
